A strategy for improving your listening skills is recording yourself during a coaching conversation. A video allows you to watch yourself in action and observe your facilitation techniques, just as you have been watching other coaches in action. If this idea is intimidating to you (or the teachers with whom you work), consider using a phone (which is small and more discrete), recording only yourself, or using only audio.
After you record yourself, utilize the note catcher below (or linked here) to reflect on the conversation.
If you have a trusted colleague, you can also invite them to watch the video and provide you with strengths-based feedback.
